Tea room, 2020, wood, 177x170.5x150cm

A moment of encounter with a cat portrait and tray of eggs placed in a two mat tea room, Nijo Chashitsu, to explore cues affecting the perception of depth and size.

Golden Forest, 2019, acrylic, 46x46cm

Acrylic painting on a landscape with golden hues that is directly translated from a printed image.

Street, 2018, acrylic, 480x250cm

Strokes of bold dark grey lines tracing the map of the neighbourhood. It aims to spark conversations between visitors and residence about updates and surrounding over tea in the garden.

Installation In The Lift

Lift socket, 2015, print, 5x5cm

A contemporary installation in homage to Stuart Ringholt who uses art as performance.

It is amusing how a design studio has lack of plug points that will drive students to the attempt of using plug point in the lift out of desperation.

Images of socket points are printed on paper, attached on a wooden block and stucked onto the wall of the lift. Those units are occasionally rearranged by users of the lift. Units shifted higher exaggerates the lament over the "out of reach" of plug points.

Abstract Mediation and Strategy by Bernard Tschumi

Untitled, 2015, ink and collage 188x30cm

"Crossprogramming" -where typology of building mismatches the architecture, is explored by means of representation of having eggs on a tim tam biscuit container and tim tam biscuit on egg trays.

Untitled, 2015, ink and collage 188x30cm

"Transprogramming"-combine programs regardless of their incompatibilities, is explored by gradual steps of mixing the squashed tim tams and broken eggs.

Untitled, 2015, ink and collage 188x30cm

"Disprogramming" -various configurations of program that changes the architecture (design of container), is explored by physically disintegrating the tim tams and chemically changing the nature of egg through boiling, cutting, breaking and storing them in myriad possibilities.

Political Agenda onto Architecture

Building Passing #1, 2015, collage, 22x30cm

The half tone line art reduction of William Barak's face on the newly designed apartment by ARM is replaced with the Robert Doyle's depicting the control of land by the Lord Mayor responsible for administering Melbourne.

Social Agenda onto Architecture

Building Passing #2, 2015, collage, 22x30cm

The uniformity of the facade of Design Hub and life of the students inside resembles the life of inmates in a prison, changing the perception of typology and architecture design.

Justice and Crime â€‹

Ned Kelly embracing Supreme Court. Theme of justice centred on an iconic Australian bushranger where the Ned Kelly armour with rectangular slit becomes a distinctive feature. Important architectural element like arches and pediment of the Supreme Court is detailed. It is made of air hardening clay, shaped and smoothen with water and ice cream stick, and kept to dry for 24 hours and forced dry with heater.

Memorial for the Missing Camera

The longing for the camera that will never return provokes a commemorative piece to remember its contribution. Inspired by "Gold Marilyn" 1962 where Warhol painted the canvas gold and silkscreening her portrait at the center. In this case, the portrait of the camera is framed.

A representation from a quote

"People tend to appreciate things well only after loosing (losing) them. If and only if they have the chance to go back to the past, they would appreciate it a lot more than they once did. -Kelvin Tan

Out of the Frame â€‹

An experiment on the colours of the 90s art. Being out of the frame also means to be remarkable, outside of normal, crazy, wild! That is my brother, and that is what he will always be.
