NO roundabout! Redefining streets for street vendors!

The Collective Street City

Transformation of an abandoned and obstructive roundabout park into a rectilinear edged plot that results from the extension of the existing urban grid. Entry points are created at several axis that opens at different widths for movement control. Design intervention involves the reinterpretation of the existing streets used by market and vendor sellers into sky street, hanging street, minute street, submerging street and hill street. The project aims to preserve the interesting informal urban grain, improve the economy of street vendors and encourage the inheritance of traditional skilles of culinary and craft into the new generations with the creation of new public gathering points; workshops, cafeteria, train information center for future subway and street vendors liason center distributed around site.
